Crash Test Drama
Crash Test Drama Canberra was founded in 2012 by a group of local playwrights as a way for writers to develop their craft through moved readings. In a single afternoon, new plays are cast, rehearsed and performed script-in-hand in front of an audience.
Details of the next event will be posted here. To see photos of past events, head to our Facebook Page.

To develop the skills of playwrights by allowing them to see their work performed on stage.
To provide an opportunity for actors and directors to network and practice their craft.
How it works:
Playwrights submit scripts; six to eight are then selected for Crash Test Drama.
Actors and directors register to participate by completing the online form or joining the Facebook Event; actors may also show up on the day
Directors are matched with scripts prior to the event
Actors, directors and playwrights arrive on the day and are given two hours to rehearse.
The doors open for a public moved reading of the plays.
Judges and audience members select winners.
The entry fee for participation and viewing of the show is $10.
