January Holiday program: MUSICAL MANIA!
January Holiday program: MUSICAL MANIA!
5 day program: 8.45am - 5pm Monday 21 - Friday 25 January 2019 AGES 8-14
Do you have a child who loves singing, dancing and acting? In this course, young performers at beginner and more experienced levels will collaborate to create a Musical Variety Show featuring songs from popular musicals.
Songs, routines and acting scenes will be selected and adapted based on the interests and skills of performers, but an indication of likely numbers include from musicals such as…
The Sound of Music
The Wizard of Oz
High School Musical
Facilitated by three tutors with specialist interests across singing, choreography and acting, this will be a lively and busy program and is ideal for energetic and passionate young performers ages 8-14 (confident 7 year olds accepted). To put together scenes from iconic musicals (e.g. the Von Trapps from The Sound of Music!), we require performers of different ages from 8-14, with opportunities for older performers and very confident young performers to take on leading roles.
PRE-REQUISITE: This course is suited to performers with an existing interest in singing, dancing or acting and a willingness to extend skills across areas. No formal prior training is required, but it is important that the performer is excited to learn new singing, dancing and acting skills in musical theatre.
Based in a city location, places are limited and bookings are essential.
Location: Playing Field Studio, 2 Kingsley St
(corner of Barry Drive), City
Times: 8.45am - 5pm Monday 21 - Friday 25 January 2019
Cost: $275 for five day program
My daughter has been doing the holiday drama classes for three holidays now. She loves being able to come up with the ideas for the show and then act them out. The facilitators have been excellent. We've been so happy that my son asked to do a holiday program once he was old enough and had such a great time as well. I can't recommend the holiday classes enough. - Sam, Chapman
"Both my children loved their first Budding Theatre holiday program. The activities and guidance with the children helped them go through the stages of group formation and performance, despite different personalities and ideas. The class size was perfect." - Anon.
My son participated in the July school holiday program. He had a fantastic time making new friends and learning lots of new skills. It was a whole week of fun for him!” - Lisa, Higgins
My son and daughter both attended the Heroes and Villains holiday program and thoroughly enjoyed it. The program gave them a full week of fun drama antics and culminated with a terrific show for parents to watch. Awesome holiday program and with longer days than many holiday courses, it’s good for working parents too. - Bridget Johnson, Kaleen
The October School Holiday program was our first encounter after happening upon the holiday program on FB. Our 7 year old daughter really enjoyed the holiday program and was well entertained the whole 4 days. - Briony, Farrer
