October Holiday program: DISNEY MANIA!
October Holiday program: DISNEY MANIA!
This will be a fabulously fun four-day drama program as children ages 6-12 work towards a performance inspired by the theme of DISNEY! Yes, this is THE dream holiday program for young dramatic Disney princesses and Disney fans of all kinds. Developed by playwright Kirsty Budding (author of Canberra Area Theatre award-winning children’s play The Fairytale Channel) in response to VERY popular demand, whether you want to be Cinderella or Simba, Elsa or Donald Duck, we will be creating an original, funny and magical play bringing ALL of the children’s dream characters together. The final exciting ‘tribute to Disney’ show for parents will be held 5pm Friday 11th October.
Children enrolling in this course are required to arrive on Day 1 of the program wearing the costume of their FAVOURITE Disney character and the character they would like to play in the final show. We will then work together to develop a fantastic story interweaving all the different characters. There is a space in the enrolment form to specify which character your child will play, or their favourite characters if they have not decided which one yet. If you would like ideas or to check on the popularity of certain characters, email Kirsty via firstname.lastname@example.org. What if my child arrives as the same character as another child? Not a problem! There are MANY comedic theatre opportunities when you have multiple versions of the same character.
PLEASE NOTE: This course is suitable for drama beginners as well as more experienced performers. It is not suitable for children who simply want to ‘dress up’, but for children who have an interest and passion for performing and are prepared to:
Learn lines to perform in a Disney-themed play which may have musical/singing/dance elements.
Work cooperatively with other children on drama activities and support and encourage others to develop their skills and be their best.
Learn other aspects of performance creation including contributing creative ideas and proper behaviours and expectations in a performance environment.
This course helps students develop confidence and performance skills in a supportive environment by utilising themes and characters that excite and connect with young performers. Students will have fun acting, improvising, playing theatre games and developing their own final production for family and friends. Early bookings strongly advised.

“We had lots of fun and I hope I can go back to another one of your programs.” - Crystelle, age 8 (July 2019 holiday program)
My daughter has been doing the holiday drama classes for three holidays now. She loves being able to come up with the ideas for the show and then act them out. The facilitators have been excellent. We've been so happy that my son asked to do a holiday program once he was old enough and had such a great time as well. I can't recommend the holiday classes enough. - Sam, Chapman
"Both my children loved their first Budding Theatre holiday program. The activities and guidance with the children helped them go through the stages of group formation and performance, despite different personalities and ideas. The class size was perfect." - Anon.
My son participated in the July school holiday program. He had a fantastic time making new friends and learning lots of new skills. It was a whole week of fun for him!” - Lisa, Higgins
The program gave them a full week of fun drama antics and culminated with a terrific show for parents to watch. Awesome holiday program and with longer days than many holiday courses, it’s good for working parents too. - Bridget, Kaleen
The October School Holiday program was our first encounter after happening upon the holiday program on FB. Our 7 year old daughter really enjoyed the holiday program and was well entertained the whole time. - Briony, Farrer
